Gervan graduated from the University of the West Indies, St Augustine with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Anthropology before pursuing a Master of Science in Health Psychology at the University of Westminster in London. Since graduating, he has worked in a number of areas including teaching, research and consulting, patient care, community health outreach, and HIV/STI prevention and counselling.
More recently, he served as the Assistant Secretary for the Trinidad and Tobago Association of Psychologists from 2022 to 2024.
Gervan is currently pursuing a Masters in Social Work with a focus on Medical Social Work and is an active researcher who publishes in the areas of psychology, psychiatry, and public health.
